Sometimes, when I tell people that I’m a communications strategist they assume that I’ve never been nervous to speak in public or second-guessed a caption or email.

That’s so wrong it’s not even funny.

While my 18+ year journey spans government, nonprofit, and small business, I still make mistakes, get nervous, and quiet as it’s kept… have some “I cannot believe I did that!” moments.

But let’s rewind just a little to explain how I got here.

I got my official communications wings at the Alliance for Quality Education, New York’s leading education advocacy organization. I can still remember showing up a day early for my interview. Let’s just say I desperately needed a job – any job.

From 2006 to 2012, I played an integral role in spearheading strategies that commanded local, statewide, and national media coverage for the organization.

Then, I stepped into the world of New York politics, where I served as Deputy Press Secretary for the State Comptroller’s Office.

In this role, I managed media relations for a range of complex issues, including the state’s retirement system and state-based investments. It was great seeing how government worked from the inside.

In 2016, I hopped on a plane to Morocco to provide strategic communications to my first client – a nonprofit with a growing national presence. This bold move was a key point in my journey, which has gifted me many unforgettable wins and lessons (AKA losses).

Business ownership is something else, ain’t it? 😉

But… I don’t regret any of it.

Today, my happy place is partnering with clients who need to bridge the gap between their exquisite service and the people who need them most. I provide long-term partnerships and one-time projects, such as speechwriting, delivery coaching, copywriting, and workshops.

Here’s why I do it:

I know what it’s like to struggle managing everything alone and still wonder if you’re really doing enough.

On the flip side, I know what it’s like to focus on the parts of your business that you love and happily deliver for your clients.

Instead of stressing about what to say, how to say it, and when to say it, my clients have more time to show up as the CEO of their business and serve their clients.

If you’re reading this… you’ve probably endured the stress of trying to manage communications in addition to running your business.

From strategy to execution, including messaging, sales emails, building awareness, content planning, and more. You’re doing (or trying) to do it all alone.

Imagine letting go of the communications responsibilities and just celebrating the results instead.

It’s possible when you partner with a communications strategist.

Instead of worry and overwhelm, you could feel empowered and assured knowing that your communication strategy is in expert hands.
