The Commute

Even though I had already traveled the route with a coworker, I still felt like “O-M-G.  What am I doing walking around in another country by myself?!” I passed cars, people and sheep along the way. The sheep were pretty gangster. Some of them stayed put so I literally had to walk through them.

I figured if they tried to butt me I was going to wave my arms and buck like a chicken.  It’s funny what kind of stupid ideas you make up in the heat of the moment.

** The video below was taken this morning**

Kissy Time

Kissy time happened as soon as I arrived at the center. I’m thinking this is something you do when you greet someone for the first time, or if you haven’t seen them in more than a day. I have now mastered it. One kiss on the right cheek, two consecutive kisses on the left. Let ye who wants to get their kiss on come forward.

Note: Only the women do this. I don’t think having kissy time with men who are not yours (See what I did there?) is an appropriate thing to do. Nope.

Moroccan Tea and Treats

The tea and treats are DELICIOUS and they are everywhere. Siedah made Moroccan tea (mint tea) and we ate mmsemems (?) with it. It’s a warm doughy… just know that it’s magical. Yes, I’m a unicorn here and they have magic carbs.

I attended a meeting that was conducted mostly in French, so I did my smile-and-nod thing until my cheeks started to hurt. Then, the magic happened again, more tea and treats. While they talked, I sipped and placed treats into my mouth in a very lady-like fashion. My pinkie was in the air. I know how to be a stealth lady. I highly doubt they noticed I ate seven cookies.

Work, work, work, work, work, work

Well, of course, I didn’t come all the way here for just sheep, kissy time, tea and treats. I’m planning some upcoming events and working on projects. I don’t want to say too much, but do know that I arrived at 9:00 a.m. and willingly stayed until 8:00 p.m.  It’s an exciting place. I’m so happy to be a part of the team, even if only temporarily.
